It’s been a rather slow summer on Tyneside thus far, so the fact the club were splashing out on a promising young Englishman has delighted the Toon Army in the Tavern this evening. Still, not all recent transfer reports have been met with such glee.
Indeed, according to reports over in Spain, the Magpies are keen on a move for flop defender Javier Manquillo. The Spaniard, who failed to wholly convince on loan with the likes of Liverpool and Sunderland, looks set to leave Atletico Madrid this summer.
Indeed, Mundo Deporitvo claim the 23-year-old could soon pen a three-year-deal with the Magpies.
Although DeAndre Yedlin managed to put a loan spell with the Black Cats behind him to become a fan favourite at St. James’ Park, Manquillo’s potential arrival has sparked some interesting reaction online.
