Martin O’Neill could be about to launch an ambitious move to try and improve his Nottingham Forest defence.
The Tricky Trees are believed to be keen on making an £8million move for the defender as the club have struggled to keep clean sheets this season.
Forest want to push on with their quest in acquiring a spot in the playoffs at the end of the campaign and O’Neill sees the defence as an area that needs improvement.
The 20-year-old is out of favour at the London Stadium and could be allowed to leave the Premier League side this January.
Oxford is keen to try and get regular football under his belt and is thought to have grown frustrated with the limited opportunities he has had under Manuel Pellegrini.

Oxford is a player that has shown plenty of promise, however, he has failed to kick on with his career at West Ham.
Nottingham Forest could be a great move for the 20-year-old to get back to playing regular football in competitive competition as they look to try and earn promotion from the Championship.
However, with the player thought to be available, a move for Oxford could be considered to be highly ambitious as a number of sides will likely be taking an interest in the youngster.
