Crystal Palace know they must try and improve their league form in the hopes that they can hike themselves further up the table.
Roy Hodgson has himself a fine group of players but their consistency is often their biggest downfall.
If performances were good every week, there is no reason as to why the Eagles can’t aspire to finish in the top ten but they may have missed a trick not signing many players in January.
Whilst some have done all they can to improve their squad, Crystal Palace haven’t.
Even though they’re comfortable in the league and have progressed into the FA Cup fifth round, they could be doing more, like signing a goalscorer who goes by the name of Oliver McBurnie.
McBurnie, (who is valued at £3.6 million on Transfermarkt) isn’t likely to achieve promotion into the Premier League with Swansea this season but with a move to Crystal Palace, he would have successfully navigated his way from the League Two, all the way to the top flight.
He’s definitely good enough to play in the Premier League as well, as demonstrated by the 13 league goals he has bagged so far this season.
At the age of 22, McBurnie has plenty of good years ahead of him and with Jordan Ayew’s loan expiring in the summer, Crystal Palace could find themselves an instant replacement.
He has all the motivation and desire in the world to be successful in the game. He wears his heart on his sleeve with every game he plays and at times, that is what The Eagles have lacked up-front.
They may have to fight off competition to acquire him but Oliver McBurnie has shown he is worth the hassle this season.
