The Newcastle fans in the Transfer Tavern have been discussing a potential move for Everton winger, Yannick Bolasie. The Congolese international returned to fitness after more than a year on the sidelines at the back end of the season, although he could have played his last game for The Toffees if this report from Foot.CD is anything to go by.

Newcastle are in the market for a winger on a permanent deal after Chelsea’s young Brazilian winger, Kenedy returned to his parent club last month. The money required for the Kenedy deal is probably too much for the Magpies to fork out, especially with the way he played whilst on-loan despite the fact he hasn’t had consistent first-team football in his Chelsea career.
The fans have finally given up on Kenedy and with Christian Atsu’s inconsistent wing play and lack of end product, it’s no surprise to see the Geordies looking to other options. One option, in particular, is Everton’s tricky winger, Yannick Bolasie. Everton have announced that they’ll be having a squad fire sale as they look to clear out the deadwood, and Bolasie could be having to pack his bags, although he can rely on their being interest in him from all over, with Newcastle one of the prime destinations.

This move would be perfect for Newcastle, with the fans seemingly all wanting to see the winger on Tyneside and even the Everton fans happy to let him go. Everyone involved will just be hoping that there is weight behind the rumours.
