The Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern have been slating their Argentian winger, Erik Lamela, following his comments at the end of the West Brom game on Saturday afternoon. Tottenham had the chance to overtake Liverpool with a win against relegation-threatened West Brom, although they fell to a 1-0 defeat courtesy of ex-Lilywhite, Jake Livermore’s 92nd-minute goal.

Lamela was thrown a start in the trip to The Hawthorns over the likes of Heung-Min Son and Lucas Moura, although Lamela did make way for Lucas with just over ten minutes remaining. Tottenham’s loss to the Baggies makes them just the latest team to fall to a defeat at the hands of Darren Moore’s side as they look to do the impossible and survive from a position of no returns. The Baggies have now beaten Tottenham at home and also claimed the scalps of both Newcastle and Manchester United on the road.
Whilst it’s no doubt an unbelievable resurgence for the club under Darren Moore, Tottenham should be winning those games. Mauricio Pochettino’s men bossed the game for most of the afternoon and had 74% possession at The Hawthorns, although possession doesn’t win matches, and Jake Livermore’s late shot bundling the ball over the line was enough for West Brom, despite it being their only shot on target. After the game, Lamela showed his frustration to the result, with a number of fans getting on his back after the loss.

He is one of the worst players I’ve ever seen in a spurs shirt and i go back to the days of John Pratt

Tough defeat. But one game is not enough to crush our fighting spirit. We’ll get to win again.

Seriously you're not good enough. Sorry mate

Really ??? Came to win. But we lost. And it's worse than a draw ????

We are a far better team without Lamela – Son was on fire and added to the explosive nature of our counter attacking. Lamela has been living on that 1 Rabona goal he scored for too long now + he only did that 'because' he doesn't have a right foot.

How he starts ahead of Moura is beyond me

I’m one of the minority that actually like Lamela but he was shambolic yesterday.
