Leeds United are priming themselves with a big return to the Premier League after a 14 year hiatus, and there’s going to be no leniency from Marcelo Bielsa for players who aren’t pulling their weight all the way to the end of the season.
Aptly named ‘el Loco’ for his style of management and conduct, it’s hard not to respect the work Bielsa has already put into Leeds to turn them into a title contending side.
Upon his arrival he made sure to instil a sense of reality and pride back into his players – having them pick up litter around their training ground to appreciate the price the fans pay to fulfil their passion and working them senseless in a military style boot camp.
It goes without saying that the Argentine takes no prisoners in his quest for glory, and there are a few players in the squad who look like they could be on the receiving end of his wrath if they don’t improve their performances.
With that in mind, here is one player that is at risk of being axed if he doesn’t play out of his skin in 2019…
Patrick Bamford

Patrick Bamford is one of the many Leeds players currently sat on the sideline as a possible victim of Marcelo Bielsa’s rigorous fitness regime.
Bamford arrived from Middlesborough earlier this year and managed one goal in seven appearances for the first-team before being injured in an under-23s game.
With the team progressing so well without Bamford, headed by an in-form Kemar Roofe, there’s going to be very few opportunities for the injured forward to stake his claim when he makes a return in a few months time.
When he does return, it’s imperative that he makes the most of his chance to impress because we have a feeling Bielsa won’t wait around…
