Manchester City fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are eagerly awaiting the start of the Premier League season.
City have been made favourites for the title across the board, with many here in the Tavern feeling that the quality of player that they have brought in this summer, combined with the mystique of Pep Guardiola will be enough to secure the top spot with ease over the next 9 months.
Unsurprisingly, much has been made about the players that City have brought in this summer, but what of the players that might be leaving The Etihad this summer?
Here are THREE Man City players that Pep Guardiola needs to axe before transfer deadline day…
Wilfried Bony
City fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern have been disappointed with Wilfried Bony since his arrival in Manchester.
He came to the club with a pedigree of a top European striker, proving prolific during a spell with Swansea in the Premier league; but since his arrival he has largely failed to deliver.
He was never going to pip Sergio Aguero as number one striker for The Citizens, and it seems that he simply isn’t suited to a back-up role at the club.
City should look to sell him whilst they can still get a decent fee.
Samir Nasri
Arsenal fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern have made no secret of the hilarity that they see in Samir Nasri’s fall from grace at Manchester City.
Proclaimed as not being fit enough upon the arrival of Pep Guardiola, Nasri has been linked with the exit door all summer; and now City fans are in agreement that he must leave.
He has had a decent run at City, but the time has come for him to be replaced by even better, younger stars of the Pep Guardiola era.
Eliaquim Mangala
Another player that has simply failed to adapt since his arrival in England.
Mangala was signed for a near record fee when he joined the club last year, and since then he has failed to impress anyone here in the Football Transfer Tavern.
Looking shaky and nervous in the heart of the City defence; reliability is a major key as Guardiola looks to win the title next season – Mangala simply isn’t good enough.
