Phil Hay reveals Sam Dalby could leave Leeds this January

Leeds United could see one of their exciting attacking prospects leave the club before the end of Thursday’s deadline.

Phil Hay has revealed on Twitter that Sam Dalby could be amongst a group of players who could be on the move this winter.

The Under-23 striker joined the club in last year’s window from Leyton Orient, however, he has not been able to break into the first-team under Marcelo Bielsa.

Dalby earned a move to Elland Road following his performances for the National League side and is thought to have an incredibly bright future ahead of him.

Bielsa has not been shy to use players from the academy ranks this season as they look to win promotion to the Premier League, however, the young forward is yet to get his chance.

The Verdict:

A loan switch for Dalby would appear to make sense for all involved.

Despite Bielsa liking to use a number of his younger players, due to injuries and suspensions to his first-team, the youngster has not yet been used.

It remains to be seen where he could potentially head out to, however, if he were to get regular minutes in a lower division, then it could only benefit his development.
