Our Newcastle fans here in the Transfer Tavern can’t wait for their side to get going this season as the Premier League returns to Tyneside.
The men from St. James’ Park had a season away last year, of course, and they’ll be hoping to never go back there again – starting with survival this season.
For sure, then, the onus is going to be on the players and manager Rafa Benitez to make sure they apply themselves as well as possible and that can certainly be said for the returning Tim Krul.
On his day, Krul has been a good ‘keeper for the Magpies but in recent years he seems to have fallen by the wayside.
Even so, he’s back after a loan away and tweeted about pre-season – leaving many to react:
