Lilywhites fans here in the Tavern are getting fed-up with the current state of their side, having undone any hard-work that’s been created from the early parts of the season. The festive period has been one to forget so far for Mauricio Pochettino and his men, with the North London Derby loss triggering a mini-crisis that’s resulted in only 2 points being taken from a possible 4 games.
Although things haven’t exactly been in the highest of spirits in recent times, fanatics here in the Tavern have loved the legacy that Pochettino has built since he took over at White Hart Lane, with one of his specialities having been to provide the stepping stone for young talent to progress.
The Argentine showed early signs of his eye for youthful exuberance when he signed England international Dele Alli from League 1 side Milton Keynes Dons in the first year of the job, and hasn’t stopped there with his most recent harvest being the rise in-form of Spurs youth product Harry Winks, on his way to gaining a first England call-up.
After securing qualification from the ‘group of death’ Tottenham have now been given the luxury of displaying whatever team they desire in their final game against Apoel Nicosia, with the result having no effect on their future in the competition, providing key players with much-needed rest that enables the youngsters a chance to showcase their skills.
The next Harry Winks to be discovered tonight?
So without further ado, here’s a look at 2 Spurs youth products who could be about to make their breakthrough.
Kyle Walker-Peters

The 20-year-old right-back has shown glimpses of former Tottenham man Kyle Walker, impressing when called upon this season.
Operating as either at right-back or wing-back, the youngster’s main attribute is the way he utilizes his pace for someone of a shorter frame opposed to many of his opponents, with lightning quick speed making up for his lack of height.
The right-back has been another example of Pochettino’s influence on youth this season, with his 2 Premier League and 1 EFL cup appearances displaying the belief the manager has in his ability.
So, with Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier having taken on a huge amount of game-time already this season, it may just be the turn of the defender for his first European appearance.
Georges-Kevin N’Koudou

Pochettino had high hopes for the youngster who was lighting up the French Ligue 1 at such a young age.
On his day, he has the ability to tear apart most of the Premier League’s defences, with his incredible burst of speed and unbelievable armoury of skills and tricks.
Yet, still at the young age of 22, he’s struggled to force any place in what is a rampant Tottenham attack, due to the likes of Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen becoming the mainstays in the line-up.
Therefore, with limited opportunity so far this season he’ll be looking to improve upon the 4 appearances he’s managed to tally up for the first-team so far.
Lilywhites, thoughts?
