Tottenham’s poor recent form has given the fans in the Transfer Tavern very little to smile about. They’re struggling desperately in the Premier League, and given their current standing in the Premier League, there is a lot of work to be done. Fortunately, some news that is filtering into the Transfer Tavern is sure to please the Spurs faithful.
According to Sky Sports, Tottenham are actively scouting Inter Milan midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, who is currently on loan with Valencia. He has been a crucial part of a team that has impressed in La Liga this term, and he has clearly caught the attention of Mauricio Pochettino.
Providing strong tackling, excellent passing and a great engine, Kondogbia has emerged as the engine in the heart of the Valencia midfield, and there is no doubting that he is well suited to the Premier League.
Tottenham have a strong midfield at present, but as the report by Sky Sports notes, Mousa Dembele is no longer in his prime, with a replacement needed at some point over the next few years. Kondogbia could very well be the best choice, and at 24-years-old, he is entering the prime of his career.
Landlord’s Verdict
Kondogbia has found it tough to settle down, but Mauricio Pochettino’s management has been the perfect compliment to some of Europe’s most talented players in recent years.
He’s clearly a very talented player, and he has been sensational in La Liga, and so if they decide to move for him, he would certainly be a good choice.
