Pochettino would be silly not to give this player a chance today, here’s 2 reasons why…

Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping his side can get the three points today against Stoke City, and our Spurs fans here in the Transfer Tavern are looking in a confident mood.

The talent that the Spurs squad possesses is something which has impressed both home and opposition fans alike this season, and within that squad there is some excellent young players.

One of these players is Harry Winks, who has emerged this season as somewhat of an exciting midfield talent for the White Hart Lane Club.

Talk over at the table football table among the Spurs fans this week has been centered around Winks and the ability he carries, with many hoping he is given a start today against Stoke.

With this in mind, we have taken a look at TWO reasons why Pochettino should give Harry Winks a chance today…

Attacking threat

Spurs will need to have some guile and poise in attack in order to break down a stubborn Stoke side, and Winks offers a bit more in the attacking areas than say Moussa Dembele.

Winks will be looking to get up with Harry Kane and Dele Alli if he is given the nod, and this feature of his game might just convince his manager to give him a start today.

Fresh legs

If Winks does not get a start in the Europa League (at the time of writing no squad announced), then it might be that he is needed to provide some fresh legs in the middle of the park for Spurs.

Winks is fast developing into an excellent option for Spurs and their manager, and it is which might well see him get the nod today, and on more and more occasions between now and the end of the season.
