Potential arrival of 46-year-old could save Man Utd millions in the transfer market – agreed?

Share

According to the Sun, Man Utd could look to bring in Zinedine Zidane as a potential replacement for Jose Mourinho in the future, and that, naturally, has led to discussions over how the Frenchman would do.

One thing that is particularly different about the pair is their management styles. Mourinho is often harsh and divisive, whilst Zidane has previously been more cool, calm and collected.

Mourinho’s style has been problematic over the years, at a variety of clubs, with fallouts with players often leading to expended spells in which said players aren’t involved n the team.

That’s no different at Man Utd, but would that change if 46-year-old Zidane were to come in?

In truth, there are a Red Devils that could have long-term futures at Old Trafford if Mourinho were to leave – and Zidane could be the man to get the best out of them. This, in theory, could end up saving Man Utd millions in transfer fees, given the talent at the club that Mourinho isn’t making the most of at present.

Here are TWO Man Utd outcasts that Zidane could bring back into the fold if he were to join…

Luke Shaw has had a tough time of it at Man Utd under Jose Mourinho, and that’s a shame.

Despite his mixed form, he is still one of England’s best young prospects, and he’s still at an age in which the best can be brought out of him.

It seems a though Mourinho’s abrasive management style hasn’t worked too well with him, and Zidane could offer something different.

During his stint in Madrid, he came across as a manager that is much less harsh on his players, and instead of leaving players out in the cold, he’s always looked eager to put his arm around them instead.

That caring personality could be what Shaw needs to bring the best out of him. Not to mention, a new manager would also simply offer the chance to hit the reset button at Old Trafford.

Changing the managerial approach towards Shaw could allow him to reach his potential, and that would negate Man Utd’s current need to improve their left-back options – saving them millions in the process.

Anthony Martial is another player that Mourinho hasn’t been able to get the best out of. At Monaco, he was one of Europe’s brightest young talents, but he’s stagnated under the managership of Mourinho.

His defensive style hasn’t suited the Frenchman, and so the arrival of an offensive manager like Zidane could give him a new lease on life. Like Shaw, he’s also been impacted by Mourinho’s management style, and a change could be just what he needs.

Martial’s versatility would mean that Man Utd don’t need to spend big on a back-up for Romelu Lukaku, not to mention he could continue to make an impact in attacking midfield – which is important given that the likes of Juan Mata and Alexis Sanchez aren’t young players anymore.
