Potential consequences of Manchester United signing David Brooks

David Brooks

Manchester United have been extremely impressive since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took charge at Old Trafford, with a top four spot looking likely at this stage.

The Red Devils still find themselves making up for their poor first half of the season under Jose Mourinho, but they’re now within touching distance of a top four spot.

And, it looks as if the club are already looking towards the summer transfer window, as according to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are eyeing a summer move for Bournemouth’s David Brooks.

Indeed, Brooks has impressed at the Vitality Stadium since making the move from Sheffield United, with the potential to become a future star in the Premier League.

So, here are the potential consequences of securing an ambitious move for the Bournemouth ace…

ROMELU LUKAKU GETS SOLD

Romelu Lukaku has been hugely disappointing in the current campaign as he continues to receive heavy criticism from supporters. The Belgium international has only managed to find the back of the net nine times in 29 appearances, with his first touch and his finishing constantly letting him down.

Indeed, David Brooks’ potential arrival may finally force the Red Devils into offloading the Belgian as they’ll need to pay a significant fee to lure the youngster to Old Trafford. Lukaku may not have enjoyed a very successful time of things in the current campaign, but he will be sure to attract a big fee.

HELP BRING BACK GLORY DAYS

Manchester United are a long way off repeating Sir Alex’s glory days at this moment in time, having struggled to ensure consistency in recent years under Jose Mourinho. And, the Red Devils have had to deal with Romelu Lukaku’s inconsistencies in the current campaign, which has had a negative affect on their position.

But, things are on the up and the Premier League table would look a whole lot different if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had been in charge from the start. It’s safe to say that the Red Devils could take a step towards bringing glory back to Old Trafford if they manage to secure the services of David Brooks, as he’s already produced a number of goals and assists in the Premier League in the current campaign, with all the ingredients to become a future star of the game.

The youngster could fix United’s only underlying problem, the No 9 position. He would play a huge part in the future of the club, with one of the strongest squads in the Premier League potentially getting even stronger.
