talkSPORT presenter Jim White has shared his ‘information’ on Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips and links of a move to Manchester City.

The Lowdown: Bid in?

Pep Guardiola’s side have been heavily linked with a move for the 26-year-old following the dramatic end to the 2021/22 season for both clubs.

The Premier League champions see the England international as an ideal replacement for Fernandinho, with rumours of an official bid over the weekend .

Journalist Michael Rincon stated on Twitter in recent days that City have ‘100%’ made a bid for the Leeds star, although his tweet has since been deleted.

The Latest: White’s comments on Phillips

Speaking live on talkSPORT on Tuesday morning (June 21, 10:49am), as relayed by MOT Leeds News, White shared what he knows about Phillips potentially leaving Leeds for the Etihad Stadium.

The presenter claimed that there has been ‘big talk’, although City are yet to make a ‘concrete offer’ for the 26-year-old, stating:

“Kalvin Phillips is wanted by Manchester City, that move could well happen.

“It’s my information this morning, there’s big talk of Phillips to Manchester City. It’s my understanding that there are no concrete offers for him yet or for Raphinha given interest from Arsenal. Andrea Radrizzani is mainly focused on players coming in and that’s the word from the club.”

As we know with Raphinha, that has now changed, with Arsenal making a formal bid on Tuesday evening.

The Verdict: Dragging on…

There has been plenty of talk over a move to the Etihad but Leeds are still yet to receive an offer for Phillips.

An Elland Road exit could well materialise, but the longer a transfer saga drags on, the less time the Whites will have when it comes to bringing in a replacement.

Leeds appear to have two replacements in mind in RB Leipzig’s Tyler Adams and RB Salzburg’s Mo Camara, so they may be hoping to resolve Phillips’ future one way or the other over the coming weeks.
