Aston Villa will listen to offers for Jonathan Kodjia in January, as opposed to letting him leave for free in January, according to Pete O’Rourke.
This news comes with the Ivory Coast international’s contract ending in the summer of 2020, as per Transfermarkt, while he hasn’t made much of an impact this season, managing just 16 minutes of football, which came in the opening game of the season:

Many Villa fans are saddened by the decision to let the 29-year-old leave, but they can also understand it due to his lack of game time.
The main debate seems to be about whether Keinan Davis can be trusted to fill the void or if the club need to sign a replacement.
Davis has made 4 substitute appearances in the Premier League and started both of the club’s Carabao Cup matches, getting a goal and assist in the cup.
A selection of Twitter reaction to the update, including posts from saddened Villa fans, can be seen below:
Fair enough I mean it’s a shame he hasn’t been able to properly prove himself but we can get a replacement for him or just have Davis sorted

Sorry to see him go, but he has never fully recovered from that nasty injury. Wish him well.

If it wasn’t for his injuries think he may have been a really good player for us to keep, but his injuries and contract makes sense to cash in for what we can get

Never same after Bruce rushed him back too quickly as he feared the sack

This would be fine as long as he’s replaced. I like Kodj but I doubt he’s going to set the Premier League on fire

We need to get him on the pitch. Hopefully scores a few and makes an impact. We all love Jimmy danger but if Deano thinks the best option is to sell then I support him.

Inevitable, but I still feel sad about Kodjia leaving. Never the same after injury but maintained a good attitude throughout his career. Hope a good team comes in for him.
