Celtic fans on Twitter would love to see Artur Boruc come home

Celtic took to Twitter yesterday to tweet that it was 13 years to the day since Artur Boruc signed for the club on a permanent deal, and a lot of fans have been calling for the 38-year-old to return. The Polish shot-stopper was a massive fan favourite at Parkhead and the fans would love to have him back after his first five-year spell at the club was such a success.

Boruc has played more games for Celtic than any other team and his five years in Glasgow will be the ones that he’ll look back on as his most successful when he eventually hangs up his gloves. The Bournemouth shot-stopper signed for Celtic, initially on-loan, in summer 2005, although, after just a few months he activated a clause that saw him join the Hoops permanently until he left for Fiorentina five years later in 2010.

Now, eight years after his departure from Parkhead, the fans still love the Polish ‘keeper and would love to have him back in the net even if it just for one more season. Having the experienced shot-stopper would only be a good thing for Brendan Rodgers side and given the fans feeling for the Polish pro, the move would be positive. Boruc would also love to return to somewhere that he’s so loved and it would give him a chance to add to his 76 clean sheets and six major honours which he won in his five years at the club.
