Crystal Palace were unable to secure a positive result earlier on today as they couldn’t cope with the quality of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side at Selhurst Park.
Of course, with nothing really to play for from here on in until the end of the season, perhaps Roy Hodgson will turn his attention towards strengthening in the summer transfer window.
What’s the News?
According to The Sun, Crystal Palace are interested in Brentford’s Ezri Konsa.
Dougie Freedman watched the star last week and is keen on the player.
The central defender, who is valued at £3.15 million (by Transfermarkt), has established himself as a star in the Championship this season and the crazy thing is that he’s only 21 years of age, so he may end up following in Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s footsteps.
Crystal Palace already have the likes of Mamadou Sakho and James Tomkins at the heart of the defence at this moment in time, but Konsa has all the ingredients to become a future star, so it makes sense to move for him.
Indeed, the Eagles haven’t always been able to ensure defensive solidity and supporters have witnessed Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s rise to stardom this season, so bringing in a youngster like Konsa could prove to be a masterstroke.
Crystal Palace fans, do you think Konsa is the type of player your side should be looking at? Join in with the discussion below by sharing your thoughts with us.
