Nottingham Forest enjoyed a productive summer transfer window, bringing in several exciting additions as they strengthened Nuno Espírito Santo’s squad.
Ousmane Diomande arrived from Sporting Lisbon, while Liam Delap made the move from Chelsea and has already made an impressive start in Forest colours.
However, the club are continuing to look towards the future and have now reportedly agreed a deal for another promising young player, who will arrive at the City Ground in January.
Forest Agree to Sign Michael Noonan
Nottingham Forest have reached an agreement to sign Shamrock Rovers striker Michael Noonan on a free transfer, according to The Daily Telegraph, per RTE.
The 18-year-old is expected to complete his move in January, with a medical reportedly scheduled for Wednesday.
Noonan has already made history in European competition. He became the youngest player to score in UEFA Conference League history when he found the net at just 16 years and 197 days old in February 2025.
The Republic of Ireland youth international has also represented his country at the Under-17 World Cup, further highlighting the potential Forest see in him.
Forest have reportedly beaten competition from Ajax and Benfica to secure Noonan’s signature. While the striker will arrive without a transfer fee, the Premier League club will be required to pay training compensation to Shamrock Rovers.
The move also fits into a wider strategy at Forest, with the club looking to add more promising young players to their academy and develop them into future first-team options.
Noonan will now have the opportunity to continue his development in England when he officially joins Forest in January.
