Crystal Palace will be desperate to ensure consistency in the near future as they’re still at risk from slipping into the relegation places at this moment in time.
The Eagles gave Liverpool a run for their money recently and they managed to get the better of Manchester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers not so long ago, so they have plenty of reasons to be positive.
Interestingly, it appears as if the London club are looking to secure a possible swoop, as according to AS (via Sport Witness), Crystal Palace have offered €20 million (£17.27 million) to land Athletic Bilbao’s Unai Nunez.
Indeed, the central defender has been restricted to a limited amount of starts so far this season, and Nunez is thought to be ‘not comfortable’ with the lack of playing time.
Cardiff City want to secure him on a loan deal, while Palace and Watford offer €20 million (£17.27 million) to secure the 21-year-old on a permanent deal.
Roy Hodgson already has James Tomkins and Mamadou Sakho at the heart of the defence, but Nunez would be a solid capture for the Eagles with plenty of potential still yet to be unlocked.
Unai Nunez, who is valued at £11.25 million (by Transfermarkt), would be a valuable addition for the Eagles as he is a promising defender who just needs regular minutes under his belt to thrive.
Nunez is one the brightest young talents to graduate from the Athletic Bilbao academy in recent times.
And, with Palace potentially suffering injuries at the heart of the defence in what will be a long, tiring season, it makes sense to go all out to secure the Spaniard.
So, Palace are well in the race to secure the defender, but it looks as if they’ll face stiff competition as Cardiff and Watford are also seemingly interested in securing his services.
