Jurgen Klopp confirmed in his latest press conference (via the Liverpool Echo) that Naby Keita will not be fit to play in tomorrow’s FA Cup clash against Chelsea. As a result, fans are expressing their frustration with his frequent injuries, with a few calling time on his era at the club.
The Reds are set to play Premier League rivals, Chelsea, in the fifth-round of the FA Cup tomorrow evening, with both James Milner and Joe Gomez fit for selection. However, some fans are at their wit’s end with another disappointing update surrounding Keita’s fitness.
The Guinean midfielder has missed a total of 14 games this season due to injury, with the latest update stating he is out with hip pain. Klopp expects Keita to be available for Bournemouth at the weekend and will be partaking in a light training session today.
The 25-year-old arrived from RB Leipzig in 2018 after lots of on-and-off speculation surrounding the move. He impressed Liverpool fans with his 2017/18 stats – tallying nine goals and seven assists across all competitions. His form on Merseyside, however, is a different story.
Indeed, Keita has played 1,761 minutes in the Premier League since his arrival but has scored just three goals in that time. With that in mind, here’s a look at some of the reaction online.

The guy is made out of glass and you wonder why Klopp doesn’t bother playing him. We need to replace him in the summer with someone who can contribute regularly.

Should sell Keita and Shaqiri and bring in Coutinho and Werner.
Coutinho can do what Keita and Shaqiri does and Werner improves the forward options.
Can get that done for handy money.
No brainer.
