Loads of Liverpool fans heaped praise on midfielder Pedro Chirivella following his side’s 2-2 draw against Shrewsbury Town on Sunday.
Similar to the previous game against Everton, manager Jurgen Klopp opted for a blend of second-string and youth players as the Reds took on the Shrews. However, they were unable to win the tie as they were forced to going to a replay, an unwelcome one at that given Klopp won’t attend the return leg.
While goals from Curtis Jones and an own goal from Donald Love gave the Merseysiders the advantage, the hosts managed to fight back with a brace from Jason Cummings who secured his side’s ticket to a match at Anfield.
Indeed, Chirivella provided the through ball for Jones’ opener and made a positive impact for the visitors. Overall, he made six-ball recoveries, was successful with all of his dribbles and had a pass success rate of 84%, as per Fotmob. So, following his performance, supporters were pleased for the Spaniard and made their feelings clear on social media.
