Newcastle fans on Twitter already written off potential Haller signing

For Newcastle United, signing Sebastien Haller makes perfect sense. The Frenchman has scored goals everywhere he’s gone and has seven goals and five assists in ten games this season. His record is impressive and his goals would give The Magpies a huge boost, which is why the fans have no faith in signing him, especially now FAZ have claimed his price tag is between €20-30 million.
Frankfurt want between €20-30M for #NUFC target Sebastian Heller. The 24-year-old frenchman has scored seven goals in 10 appearances this season, while also providing five assist. [FAZ] pic.twitter.com/2xeuq74nqA

Newcastle United currently have two out-and-out strikers. Joselu and Salomon Rondon are far from world beaters, but they’re making the best of a bad job between them and have scored a combined three goals in 16 appearances between them. Meanwhile, the 24-year-old Frenchman at Eintracht Frankfurt, Haller, has been a goal machine in his second season in Germany and he’s been the subject of interest from more than just The Magpies.
Whilst financially, Newcastle won’t be able to compete with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund who are also keen on the striker, the club’s loyalty may pay off. Rafa Benitez wanted to sign the striker last summer and then before that in his FC Utrecht days, but the Frenchman didn’t want to play Championship football and then felt he wasn’t ready for the Premier League. Now, though, with games and goals in top-flight football under his belt, January could see Newcastle’s saviour arrive if Haller does somehow get his move.
You can read The Geordies’ verdict on signing Haller here:
Might sound ridiculous but €20m sounds doable, even by #NUFC standards. Anything nearer to €30m is unlikely though

If I recall correctly, Haller was a target prior to signing for Frankfurt. May be wrong but I believe he turned us down because we'd been relegated. Doubt we're an overly appealing option at present either.

That’s a no then

Well that’s us out of the running.

20-30m you say? Mike Ashley doesn’t keep himself in clown’s denim jeans by spending that kind of money on football players.

Get ready for a £12m bid
— Alastair Campbell (@alastair10) November 8, 2018
Ashley won't pay that. £12m is the limit with him
— The Ipswich Magpie (@IpswichMagpie) November 8, 2018
That’s cute, they’re asking for around €15 million more than what Mike Ashley will consider offering.

So what youre saying is he isn't actually a target. Anyone over 10 mill is above what Ashley is willing to pay.

The Geordies have little to no faith in signing Haller and will hope that whoever gets signed instead of him on the cheap will at least contribute something to their attempts at survival.
