Newcastle fans on Twitter groaning at thought of signing another goalkeeper

It’s no secret that Newcastle United could do with having some money pumped into the right areas. However, Mike Ashley is a clown and you never know what the next farce to go on at the club will be. The fans are desperate for some January window signings, but after reading a rumour from Record linking them with Benfica goalkeeper, Odisseas Vlachodimos, they’re not best pleased.

Newcastle United could do with another central midfielder, another winger, a new number ten and probably another striker too. In fact, the only positions that the club seem to be doing fine with are between the sticks and the centre of the defence. Everywhere else seems to be covered and the fans can’t believe that they’re supposedly looking at getting another goalkeeper despite already having four of them.

Martin Dubravka was signed permanently in the summer after being loaned in last January and he’s currently the club’s number one, beating off competition from Karl Darlow, Rob Elliot and young Freddie Woodman to be where he is. If the club sign another goalkeeper things will be bordering on ridiculous, however, it won’t be the most ludicrous thing to happen to The Magpies under Mike Ashley.
