Joelinton, who signed from Hoffenheim in the summer for an undisclosed club-record fee, has been struggling in terms of goal-scoring form – and fans know exactly who to blame for it.

That is despite The Telegraph reporting that Newcastle believe the Brazilian’s struggles are down to adaptation difficulties rather than tactics.

The 23-year-old’s only goal this campaign came in a shock 1-0 away win to Tottenham, when he fed on Christian Atsu’s dinked ball over the top, taking the ball down and slotting it past Hugo Lloris to send the away end into euphoria.

The relief when he buried that strike was clear for all to see, getting off to a fine start with his first goal in a Newcastle shirt – but the forward has since been unable to build upon that great afternoon.

As a result, supporters have laid the blame at manager Steve Bruce’s feet – claiming better tactics to suit Joelinton’s playing style would be far more beneficial than currently trying to feed off infrequent service and a lack of support from midfield.
