Joelinton has started all ten games for Newcastle so far this season, but he has only found the net once.
Should Newcastle sign Jetro Willems permanently?
Joelinton, who signed from Hoffenheim in the summer for an undisclosed club-record fee, has been struggling in terms of goal-scoring form – and fans know exactly who to blame for it.
That is despite The Telegraph reporting that Newcastle believe the Brazilian’s struggles are down to adaptation difficulties rather than tactics.
The 23-year-old’s only goal this campaign came in a shock 1-0 away win to Tottenham, when he fed on Christian Atsu’s dinked ball over the top, taking the ball down and slotting it past Hugo Lloris to send the away end into euphoria.
The relief when he buried that strike was clear for all to see, getting off to a fine start with his first goal in a Newcastle shirt – but the forward has since been unable to build upon that great afternoon.
As a result, supporters have laid the blame at manager Steve Bruce’s feet – claiming better tactics to suit Joelinton’s playing style would be far more beneficial than currently trying to feed off infrequent service and a lack of support from midfield.
Here’s what the Geordie army had to say:
A decent manager might also help

His family are in Brazil and yet they’re still closer to him than our midfield were yesterday. Bruce hasn’t got a clue how to play to Joelinton’s (or the teams) strengths.

Just as well he has a manager who wants to play attacking football, that should see him come good.

Type of coach Joelinton, Saint-Maximin, Almiron are needing👇
Communication skills&instructions&coaching Rafa could have given those 3 would have been invaluable.
Is Bruce really going to be able to help those 3 in those departments.

Some support up front during a game might be worth considering too!
