Tottenham fans always seem to be celebrating their players getting international call-ups and this time around five of the squad have been called up to the England set-up. The usual faces of Harry Kane, Eric Dier, Danny Rose and Kieran Trippier are there, but with Dele Alli out injured the fifth Spurs man is Harry Winks, and the Lilywhites are over the moon for the 22-year-old.

Tottenham are suffering something of an injury crisis at the moment and whilst the fans will be desperate to see their lads come back fully fit, they’ll be buzzing to see yet another young face in Harry Winks getting his chance to impress in Gareth Southgate’s side. England will be facing both Spain and Croatia in the UEFA Nations League and it will be a great opportunity for Winks to add to the one England cap he gained almost a year ago today in the coming weeks.
It was on the 8th October 2017 that Winks was thrown into the fray for England away at Lithuania in one of the Three Lions World Cup qualifiers. This time around, though, if Winks does play it will be a much tougher test against the likes of Spain and Croatia. He’ll be up against players like Ivan Rakitic, Luka Modric, Thiago and Sergio Busquets and whilst he’s got the quality to hold his own, it won’t be easy as he aims to show Southgate that he deserves to be a regular England starter.
