Arsenal have gotten themselves right in the fight for Champions League football in their first season under the stewardship of new manager Unai Emery.

The Gunners have played some good football at times and got some big results along the way, and a place in the top four would be a fine reward for a good first season under Emery and his coaching staff.

However, like all clubs, there are issues within both the squad and the club, and we here at the Tavern feel that there's one or two things that the manager and the club could do with resolving as the summer months begin to approach.

The Gunners fans are dying for some success to come back to the club, and Emery is certainly getting them on the right track, with just a few tweaks needed here and there to achieve his goals with the club.

With that in mind, we took a look at TWO major issues that Emery needs to address at Arsenal over the summer...

The future of Mesut Ozil

The German midfielder has had a bit of a season to forget in an Arsenal shirt, and his future is something which has hung over both him and the club this term.

Ozil is a quality operator, but if Emery can not get the best out of him, then it might be best for him to be moved on.

It's something what definitely needs resolving though, and the club need to move on regardless of the decision.

Bringing in a quality centre half

While Arsenal have at times looked ok at the back, there is still an argument to be made that they can at times look somewhat soft in the big games.

If Emery can make the right move and bring in a top quality central defender to address that issue, then there is little reason to doubt that the Gunners can indeed be a force to be reckoned with in the coming years.
