West Ham: Fans slam Felipe Anderson’s performance against Arsenal

Several West Ham United supporters were not happy with Felipe Anderson’s display in their 3-1 defeat against Arsenal on Monday.

Despite taking a first-half lead, the Hammers capitulated after the break, with three goals in the space of just nine minutes sealing the points for the Gunners (BBC Sport).

Most West Ham players were far from at their best against their London rivals, but it seems that Anderson has come in for specific flak from fans on social media.

The Brazilian really struggled to influence the game and didn’t produce the best display in truth, a statement which can be backed up by the statistics.

Indeed, the 26-year-old lost possession 10 times, won just two of the seven ground duels he was involved in and only 50% of his attempted dribbles were successful (SofaScore).

As a result of his poor performance, he was ultimately brought off by manager Manuel Pellegrini after just 69 minutes and replaced by Sebastien Haller (@WestHam).
