Pressure is on: Pochettino must be bold and drop these 2 Tottenham players against Man City – agreed?

According to the Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern, the pressure is really on Mauricio Pochettino and his team to get a result against Man City this weekend. The Lilywhites have struggled at points so far this season, with the month of November proving particularly problematic for the London-based outfit, but after winning back-to-back Premier League games, optimism is high.

That being said, they’re well adrift in the Premier League title race, and a loss against Man City could well spell the end of their title hopes.

Unfortunately for them, Man City look like an unstoppable juggernaut, and their storm on the title is unlikely to be slowing down when they head to the Etihad this weekend.

Mauricio Pochettino, then, will need to pull out all of the stops if he wants to pull off a shocking win, and that could mean dropping a few Tottenham stars.

With that said, Pochettino must be bold and drop these 2 Tottenham players against Man City – agreed?

 Mousa Sissoko

Mousa Sissoko has had a lot of involvement with Spurs this season, but in recent weeks he has really struggled.

His tenure at Tottenham in general has been poor, and whilst he did show sparks of his brilliance earlier this season, those have now dissipated.

Against Brighton earlier this week he really struggled, failing to really put his mark on the game.

Tottenham have a lot of other options in the midfield, and so Sissoko should miss out on this one.

 Erik Lamela

Erik Lamela has looked good since returning from injury, but this game might come a few weeks too soon.

It will be an unpopular move, as his pace and technique would certainly be a help for Spurs, but this game will require 100% fitness and energy, and Lamela can’t guarantee that for 90 minutes whilst he still gets back to 100% match fitness.

A role from the bench makes sense, allowing him to transform the game if required, but perhaps Dele Alli would be a better option from the start on the night.
