Our landlord is ready to begin talking about this week’s Champions League ties here in the Football Transfer Tavern but there are still some Liverpool fans who want to talk about their FA Cup defeat – until we show them this viral image of their skipper Steven Gerrard.
The midfielder is simply not good enough anymore and while he envisaged an FA Cup final and shot at a Premier League title for his final season at the club, he has instead seen a humiliating semi final defeat in which he was dire and also a sending off against Manchester United – which must have really hurt.
We think that the time has come for Gerrard to leave and with his impending move to the MLS, he seems to agree – as do the stats.
Sorry Liverpool fans, but this really does say it all.
