Newcastle United have had another frustrating transfer window this summer as the club have only managed to make three signings so far.
Martin Dubravka joined permanently in a deal worth £4million, the only deal where money has been spent, whilst Kenedy rejoined on a season-long loan and Ki Sung-yueng arrived on a free transfer following his contract expiring at Swansea City.
Rafa Benitez has made it known that he wants to add a number of players to help improve the squad and ensure they are in a position to remain competitive in the Premier League, however, he has not had the financial backing to make it happen.
The Verdict:

Newcastle will be concerned that they have struggled to make the number of signings they would have hoped for, especially with the transfer window closing a lot earlier than usual.
With the window shutting before the season starts, Benitez still has a desire to bring a number of bodies in, not least in the attacking areas, however, if money remains a concern, then they could continue to face problems.
The manager was expected to have a rather large transfer kitty available for him to use from, however, with just the one purchase of £4m, it appears that he does not have the freedom of making big signings as all would have hoped.
