Rangers: Jordan Campbell shares Souttar and Helander injury news -Rangers News

The Athletic journalist Jordan Campbell has shared some worrying Glasgow Rangers injury news regarding John Souttar and Filip Helander.

The Lowdown: Barely featured

The Swedish defender has not featured for Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s team since April, as he continues to be sidelined with a foot injury.

Meanwhile, 2022 signing Souttar played 67 minutes in their opening day 2-1 win at Livingston in the Premiership, but again has been sidelined with injury and not been able to feature since.

The Latest: Still a few weeks away

Taking to Twitter, Campbell shared a worrying update from Van Bronckhorst on the fitness of the two Rangers defenders, in that they will not be ready for another few weeks at least.

The Athletic reporter stated: “Souttar and Helander won’t be ready in the next few weeks.”

Can you guess these ex-Rangers players' nationalities? Let's get started... Florian Kamberi's country of birth is?

The Verdict: Worrying

It is certainly worrying to hear that it will be at least another few weeks until Gers supporters see Souttar or Helander playing at Ibrox again.

The Light Blues have been shipping far too many goals lately, 13 in their last five games across all competitions, and perhaps it is time for Van Bronckhorst to make a change in his backline ahead of their next set of fixtures after the international break.

Should Rangers have signed Souttar?

Supporters will surely be eager to see more of Souttar, whose Rangers career has yet to truly get up and running, while Helander needs to start proving his fitness if he is to break into the starting line-up.
