Ever since their promotion to the top-flight of Scottish football, things have gone rather sour for the Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern.
Mark Warburton is currently struggling to make his newly formed side at all competitive with the SPFL big boys and much of the talk has centred around the ridiculous Joey Barton saga.
Still, it doesn’t seem as if everyone at Ibrox is too down-heartened just yet.
Speaking to the Scottish Herald, summer signing Josh Windass has revealed he thinks the Gers can still win the title WITHOUT beating Celtic.
The Hoops have run out winners in both meetings so far this term, though the former Accrington Stanley man believes beating the Bhoys is not the be all and end all of the competition.
Much has been made of the gulf in class between the two, though the 22-year-old has talked up their chances in what would be the most unlikely title win in recent Scottish football history.
“In retrospect, beating Celtic doesn’t win you the league,” Windass said.
“You would love to beat Celtic and the fans really want you to beat Celtic.
“But in the long stretch, beating Celtic four times doesn’t win you the Premiership.
”If we take care of business, keep picking up points, improve and close the gap on Celtic in the table, then we can challenge for the title.”
