Real Madrid are interested in signing Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister. Following widespread rumours of a €120m deal in the works for next summer, TeamTalk has reported that while those reports are unproven, Madrid’s interest is in fact genuine.
New Madrid boss Xabi Alonso is understood to be in search of a new midfielder, and has shortlisted Mac Allister as a top target. Spanish outlet Defensa Central has reported that several intermediaries have already informed Madrid that Liverpool has given their approval for a 2026 move for the player.
The World Cup winner joined Liverpool from Brighton in 2023 and has become a key figure for the Reds. He appeared in 35 of Liverpool’s 38 Premier League matches last season as they claimed the league title, and has been a constant in Arne Slot’s side so far this season as well.
Madrid are understood to be keeping tabs on the player’s involvement in Liverpool’s biggest games however, believing there is an opportunity to convince the player to jump ship.
Madrid keen on Mac Allister

While any suggestion of the player being unsettled are off the mark at this moment, the player himself has previously hinted at a desire to play in La Liga one day.
“Yes, why not,” Mac Allister said to Spanish paper AS when asked if he could see himself playing in Spain.
“It’s a country I like a lot and I’ve visited it several times, and, above all, because of the language and the culture, it’s very similar to Argentina. I would definitely like to play in Spain one day.”
“But right now, I’m very comfortable at Liverpool and I don’t think about what might happen in the future.”
Madrid have already poached Liverpool for long serving right back Trent Alexander-Arnold, who’s start to life in Spain has not gone according to plan. He had only played 156 minutes for Madrid before picking up a long term hamstring injury in their Champions League opener against Marseille on September 16.
He is not expected to return until early November at the earliest. Madrid are also known admirers of Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate who is out of contract this summer and has been tipped by many to follow Alexander-Arnold to the Bernabeu.
