Jose Mourinho returns to Stamford Bridge next Monday, and the Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for a big performance…
After all, with the Premier League likely a foregone conclusion – and a top four finish the best that Man Utd can hope for – success in the FA Cup represents a decent opportunity for the Red Devils to add to their trophy haul this season.
Standing in their way is Chelsea, who will undoubtedly pose a very significant problem for Jose Mourinho.
However, according to Jamie Redknapp, the game will be worth far more than just three points – with the player-turned-pundit suggesting that Mourinho will be “desperate for revenge”.
According to the Evening Standard, he said: “Make no mistake, Jose will be desperate to go back there and win after being embarrassed 4-0 in the Premier League.
He continued: “Jose has said enough about his former club in recent weeks to suggest he would love to stop them doing the double in Conte’s first season”.
Certainly, Mourinho will be keen to return the favour on the club that dominated him earlier in the season, but Mourinho’s thirst for revenge will run far deeper than that.
Of course, he has already been sacked TWICE by the club, and he left in unfavourable circumstances last year before being replaced by Guus Hiddink.
Antonio Conte is the man that Chelsea have chosen to replace him, and so our landlord thinks that he will surely be desperate to prove their decision to be a wrong one.
Chelsea and Man Utd face off on Monday night in a game that is sure to be a classic – with the Transfer Tavern filled to the brim with hopeful punters.
