Report: Newcastle United man already looking for summer exit

Newcastle United fans in the Transfer Tavern will expect the club to become very active in the transfer window this summer quickly if they are to make additions to their side.

The lack of activity has been put down to the uncertainty surrounding the club, especially the future of Rafa Benitez as he has failed to agree to a new deal, despite wanting to commit to the St. James’ Park outfit.

The Spaniard wants certain assurances, including how much he will be able to spend during the summer but has failed to get them so far from owner Mike Ashley, however, he has already spent £4million on making Martin Dubravka’s deal from Sparta Prague permanent.

That move has given Newcastle a host of goalkeepers and has led to reports suggesting that one of them could decide to look elsewhere for first-team football. According to the Newcastle Chronicle, Freddie Woodman is keen on heading out on loan once again as he looks to continue his development, with a number of clubs rumoured to be interested in him.

He’s only just returned from a loan stint with Aberdeen but it seems like his ambition is driving him away once more, at least on a temporary basis.

Landlord’s Verdict

Woodman is certainly a star for the future, having helped the England Under-21’s to success in the Toulon Tournament following his success last summer in the Under-20’s World Cup.

A loan deal would be right for both parties involved as Woodman would be able to get the first-team football he desires, whilst Newcastle would be able to watch him develop and see how much of an improvement he could make should he return to St. James’ Park in the future.
