Newcastle give star permission to leave this summer – Report

Newcastle United fans here in the Tavern are hoping for a successful summer transfer window with plenty of improvements to be had before the start of next season.

Rafa Benitez has worked wonders at the club over the past couple of seasons but he will be looking to enjoy his best campaign yet when the Premier League gets back underway. However, the Magpies are currently receiving interest in one of their strikers, as according to the Mail Online, Stoke City have offered £10 million for Dwight Gayle who will be allowed to leave this summer.

Indeed, it’s understood that Championship side Stoke City have offered £10 million for Newcastle United striker Dwight Gayle, who will be allowed to leave St James’ Park this summer.

The 27-year-old was one of Newcastle United’s standout performers last season and helped them find the back of the net in their quest for survival, with six goals and four assists to his name.

Therefore, many of our local residents are confused as to why the club would let the striker depart this summer, as the Tyneside club are already lacking any real quality in attacking areas.

Landlord’s Verdict:

So, it looks as if Newcastle are set to lose Dwight Gayle this summer, with Stoke City tabling a £10 million bid and the Magpies giving him permission to leave. Therefore, Rafa Benitez will need to find a suitable replacement in quick time if he is serious about challenging at the top next season.
