Newcastle United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be expecting their side to kick on with their transfer business this summer.
The Magpies in the local have become slightly frustrated with how things have been going for the club over the last couple of years, however, Rafa Benitez is believed to be fairly relaxed about the whole situation.
According to a report in The Daily Mail, the Spaniard is not too concerned about his contract talks at the moment and believes an outcome will be reached at some point in the near future. The former Liverpool boss has been linked with a host of jobs this summer, with the Spain national side’s vacant position the latest to be rumoured.
However, it appears that he is keen to focus on the job at St James’ Park and, as do the Newcastle board, feel rather relaxed with the idea that the two parties will come to a resolution in the future.
Landlord’s Verdict
The Newcastle fans in the Tavern will be desperate to keep hold of Benitez as he has become a cult hero in the north-east following his exploits with the side. The Spaniard has managed to take the club back to the Premier League and kept them in the top-flight convincingly in his first two full seasons with the team and the locals will be hoping he can repeat his magic with them during the upcoming campaign.
