Rudy Gestede rejected Millwall move

Middlesbrough took a giant leap towards possibly challenging for automatic promotion at the weekend, as they got the better of West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns.

Boro will feel as if they have a good chance of securing promotion to the Premier League in the current campaign, as Tony Pulis has his side hitting top form at the perfect time in their season.

Although, it appears as if one of the club’s fringe players turned down a move away from the Riverside Stadium last month, as according to football.london, Rudy Gestede rejected a move to Millwall.

Gestede was linked with a move to the Den, but the Frenchman rejected a loan move to the Lions and decided to stay at the Riverside Stadium for the rest of the current campaign at least.

The forward has been a spectator for large parts of this season having only started one game up until this point, so it comes as some surprise that he rejected the chance to secure regular minutes.

THE VERDICT:

Rudy Gestede, who is valued at £4.5 million (by Transfermarkt), has struggled to work his way into Tony Pulis’ plans in the current campaign as he currently finds himself down the pecking order.

Indeed, a move to the Den would have done him some good as he’s stagnated behind the scenes this season, so he missed out on the opportunity to secure regular minutes.
