Sarri should think about offloading Cahill and Moses

Maurizio Sarri will have lots of potential deals to contemplate ahead of the January transfer window.

Sarri’s five months as manager of Chelsea will have thoroughly indicated which of his players can perform to the level required in the style he demands and if not, he is now at a point where he can identify this and move them on with a replacement brought in.

As Chelsea are still firing on all four fronts in the Premier League and Cups, Sarri will need to keep a level of depth to his squad but it is something that can be easily compensated for by what The Blues have at their disposal.

Therefore, Sarri has no choice but to send this Chelsea DUO packing in January…

Gary Cahill

Gary Cahill has been a pivotal figure at the heart of Chelsea’s defence across the years, he has overseen countless managers, remaining ever-present.

However, with eight appearances this season and no starts in the Premier League, now could be the time to move on.

Sarri currently has three centre-backs of a very good standard, additionally Ethan Ampadu, the 18-year-old Welsh international who encapsulates his philosophy perfectly. Cahill’s potential departure would mean he can get back to playing regular football and it, therefore, allows for more game time in the Cup competitions for Ampadu to continue to develop into a potential starter in the not too distant future.

Victor Moses

Following Antonio Conte’s first season at Chelsea, it looked as if Victor Moses had finally found his feet and was at home in the right-wing-back role.

Since his departure and Sarri’s move to his preferred 4-3-3, Moses has been unable to stake a claim at either right-back or right-wing.

The Nigerian has started once this season with five substitute appearances in all competitions, so his departure would be the best for both parties. Alike with Cahill, it would also allow another supremely talented youngster, in this case, Callum Hudson-Odoi, to get more game time to improve even further at Chelsea.
