Celtic fans on Twitter rave over Burke on Scottish Premier League debut

Oliver Burke was a signing that brought mixed feelings from the fans when he was signed on loan. The West Brom winger has so far been a star, though, scoring twice last night on his Scottish Premier League debut after previously playing well without netting in a 3-0 Scottish Cup win over Airdreonians.

After that 3-0 Cup win, yesterday proved to be a very different test as Burke made his league debut, and shone on the night as he added two of the Hoops’ four goals. His night was over after 65 minutes when the impressive debutant was hooked for another new signing to make his Scottish Premier League debut, and Timothy Weah followed in the footsteps of Burke as he also netted on the night.

If Burke can keep going at the same rate that he’s started then there’s no reason why he can’t become a hero at Parkhead. The fans are already loving him, and are rubbing it in the faces of those who said he wouldn’t be able to perform at the Glasgow club. If the 21-year-old can keep going the way he has been then it won’t be long before the fans are begging for the loan deal to become a permanent one, and there’s no doubting that Brendan Rodgers would love Burke on a long-term deal.

The Bhoys are already loving Burke and will be keen for him to carry on his great form in front of goal next time out against Hamilton.
