Last night saw Kristoffer Ajer miss a chance that would leave the Celtic U10s lads gutted with passing up. The Norwegian defender was called into action off the bench early in the first half when captain, Mikael Lustig was forced off with injury, and he won’t watch to watch any replays of his horror miss after he passed up the chance from being on the goal line following a corner.

The young defender would have been lauded for his quality instincts to keep the ball out of the net had his miss come at the other end, and it was clear at that moment that the 20-year-old isn’t an attacking force by trade, and that’s backed up by the fact that he’s only managed one goal in his 54 games for the Hoops only backs up that fact. There really shouldn’t be much surprise that he missed given that, although you truly do have to see it to believe it.
The young Norwegian defender will be one of those infamous players who probably ends up taking the 11th penalty with his ‘keeper being preferred to him judging by the way he finishes, and it’s a good thing that he’s a rock at the other end of the pitch. The fans would have been livid at the 20-year-old for his awful miss had Rosenborg not snatched a crucial goal against RB Leipzig to see the Hoops qualify at the expense of the Germans, however, all is well and now the fans will be eagerly awaiting their round of 32 opponent in the Europa League.

IT WAS IN UNTIL HE TOUCHED IT

He didn't need to touch it either
— Dean Foley (@DeanFoley16) December 13, 2018
My nan cld have scored that

The Hoops were livid at the Ajer miss at the time, and will just be delighted that is didn’t cost them.
