Everyone loves a goalscorer at Parkhead. This season has seen Odsonne Edouard and Scott Sinclair as the main poachers as they both have 17 strikes between them, yet the Bhoys could soon be lauding Vakoun Issouf Bayo as their goalscoring hero as he bagged his first goal for the club yesterday, albeit in a reserve team game.
Bayo has scored his first goal in the Hoops!

The Bhoys’ second string side travelled to face Dundee at Station Park in Forfar and came away with six goals and three points. However, the man who everyone was focusing on was the club’s January signing, 22-year-old Ivorian striker Bayo. So far for the youngster, the first-team has remained elusive and he’s managed just one appearance when he featured for just a few minutes off the bench against Kilmarnock.
The reserve team seems like a brilliant place for the striker to make some headway into his career in Glasgow as he settles in and as long as he comes good no one will have any qualms with Bayo taking his time to adjust to life in Scotland. His first goal will go a long way to helping him do just that, and any Bhoys who missed his goal and their reserve win can read the match report on the Celtic website.
You can read the Bhoys’ verdict on Bayo’s first Celtic goal here:
Hope he gets 90 minutes. Lot of games coming up that'll count towards us being able to play a certain David Bowie song all summer.

French Eddie, Bayo and LG9 next season. Love to see them all in the same team and just absolutely batter the opposition.

Bayo’s strike yesterday will go a long way for his confidence even if it was in a reserve game. The next step will be to grab one in the senior side though and the Bhoys are desperate for him to come good.
