Celtic are thought to be keen on adding a right-back to their ranks this January as they look to retain the Scottish Premiership title.
With the likes of Mikael Lustig and Cristian Gamboa’s future at Celtic Park in the air, and Anthony Ralston on the sidelines through injury, Brendan Rodgers is believed to be keen on strengthening the right side of his defence.
A number of names have been thrown into the mix this winter and it appears another has been suggested recently.
According to The Scottish Daily Mail, via 67 Hail Hail, Borussia Dortmund’s Jeremy Toljan is the latest to be linked with a switch to the Scottish Premiership champions.
However, the Bundesliga outfit are believed to be only interested in letting him head out on loan and not on a permanent deal.
Toljan has been out of favour at Dortmund this season, despite having played a main role in the side the campaign before.
Celtic’s pursuit for a right-back is clearly a priority and Toljan’s name is just the latest in a long line to have been linked with a switch to Parkhead.
The 24-year-old appears to have been frozen out of the squad under Lucien Favre, however, it does not appear he would be allowed to join Celtic on a permanent deal.
With just a few days until the end of the window, it remains to be seen if Rodgers can bring a new right-back to the club.
