Celtic will be delighted to have progressed leaps and bounds in the league and in Europe during recent weeks.
Despite injuries and a depleted squad, Celtic have defied the odds to come back strong than ever, as they search for Brendan Rodgers’ eighth trophy whilst manager at Celtic Park.
It will not be an easy task and may even require signing some players during the January transfer window, just to ensure their squad has the mental resilience to make it through the long, challenging season.
The recent injury of Ryan Christie will be a massive blow, so to the lack of form shown from Scott Sinclair this season.
That adds up to make the need for a new winger to arrive at Celtic Park, with Newcastle’s Christian Atsu offering the perfect solution.
Atsu, (who is valued at £5.4 million on Transfermarkt) is a tricky player that would bring so much quality to Celtic.
Whilst he has been appearing for Newcastle – ten times in the league this season, Atsu could still benefit from being a star at Celtic, as he would be.
Atsu is an exciting player who would get the Celtic Park crowd on side straight away with only a brief showing of his ability.
The pacey winger would be a fine upgrade on a Scott Sinclair figure who looks a shadow of his former self.
Celtic could do with improvements out wide, which as a consequence, forwards like Odsonne Edouard would receive better service because of the Ghanian’s presence.
The Hoops are so close to being able to wrap their hands around the Premiership title yet again but boosting their squad is the right thing to do considering how many games they still have to play.
