Celtic managed to secure all three points against Hibernian in their last outing, which helped them maintain their six point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.
The Hoops will feel confident that they can kick on and secure the title once again in the current campaign, with Brendan Rodgers’ January signings working wonders up until this point.
However, Celtic will welcome St. Johnstone to Celtic Park in the fifth round of the Scottish Cup tomorrow. Rodgers’ side managed to get the better of St. Johnstone last weekend in the Scottish Premiership, so they’ll be hoping for a repeat later on today in front of home support.
But, a number of players have failed to impress during their time at Celtic Park, but they have the perfect chance to silence their critics tomorrow. So, this Celtic DUO need to prove they’re fit to wear the shirt…
Jonny Hayes has been a huge disappointment ever since he made the move to Celtic Park, with substitute appearances being the norm for the Irishman.
He has appeared in nine games in all competitions this season but he still hasn’t managed to have any kind of desired impact when called upon, so he’ll need to improve massively if he is to have a future at the club.
Indeed, the attacker must prove himself in the Scottish Cup tomorrow, otherwise he runs the risk of spending the rest of the season as a spectator.
Mikael Lustig has received a lot of criticism for his performances at right-back in the current campaign, as he’s looked less than comfortable on the ball, with errors ever-present.
Rodgers went out and secured the services of Jeremy Toljan in the January transfer window, and has since demoted the Sweden international to the substitutes’ bench.
Therefore, he needs to prove himself to the fans and his teammates tomorrow if he is to stand any chance of playing a part in Celtic’s season from here on in.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
