Celtic left it late to get the better of Hearts at Tynecastle yesterday as Odsonne Edouard scored in the dying embers to give Neil Lennon his first win as Celtic’s interim boss.
The Hoops managed to retain their lead at the top of the table last night, despite Rangers destroying Dundee, so the defending champions will feel confident that they can kick on and secure the title.
But, it looks as if the Glasgow side are thinking about making a move in the summer, as according to the Scottish Sun, Celtic are interested in Motherwell’s Jake Hastie.
Jake Hastie has plenty of potential and will no doubt go on to become a future star, so here are the potential consequences of Celtic signing him…
CELTIC SECURE POTENTIAL FORREST REPLACEMENT
One of the biggest worries for supporters in recent times has been the future of James Forrest, as according to The Times (via The Scotsman), James Forrest is high up on Brendan Rodgers’ wish list at Leicester City,
Of course, with the Premier League possibly calling and Rodgers looking to reunite with one of his former players, perhaps the winger will find it too hard to turn down a move to England as Rodgers managed to get the best out of him during his time at Celtic.
Jake Hastie is a very exciting winger who has the potential to become a future star and he’s already shown that he can impress in the Scottish Premiership, having scored four goals and provided one assist in six matches. So Celtic could bag themselves a potential replacement for Forrest in the form of Hastie, as he’s very similar to the Scotland international in many ways, with his pace, creativity, skill and finishing ability working wonders for Motherwell.
PIP RIVALS TO SIGNING
Interestingly, the Hoops aren’t the only team interested in securing the services of the 19-year-old as Rangers are also reportedly (as per the Scottish Sun) tracking the attacker ahead of a potential swoop.
Celtic would love nothing more than to pip bitter rivals Rangers to the signing of Hastie, as they’d bag themselves a special talent and would gain the upper-hand on Steven Gerrard. So, many fans will be praying that their side get the job done on the transfer front, with a special talent potentially rocking up at Parkhead.
