Celtic looked dominant against St. Johnstone in the Scottish Cup yesterday as they secured a thumping 5-0 victory, with Scott Sinclair grabbing a hat-trick at Celtic Park.
The Hoops will now turn their attention towards facing Spanish side Valencia on Thursday night in their round of 32 Europa League tie. And, the Glasgow side were handed a potentially huge boost recently, as according to the Scotsman, Brendan Rodgers is confident that Oliver Burke will be fit to lead the line against Valencia.
Rodger is confident that Burke will be fit and ready to start against Valencia on Thursday night.
The 21-year-old limped out of Celtic’s Scottish Cup win over St Johnstone with an ankle injury.
“Oli took a knock to his ankle but we hope he’ll be okay,”
“You see his intensity and the threat he gives us. He was absolutely fantastic today. He should be okay for Thursday.”
Oliver Burke has been simply sensational since joining from West Brom last month, with a number of goals and assists already to his name.
Of course, with the Hoops eyeing success in the Europa League this season, it comes as a huge boost that Burke should be okay to start against Valencia on Thursday night.
