Garry Monk has given some comments ahead of Sunday’s Championship match against Bristol City.
Sheffield Wednesday, who are currently 15th in the league table, have had a difficult run under Monk this season, but the manager wants to end the term on a high.
Speaking to the media, the 40-year-old said: “One thing I can promise is there will be a team to be proud of at the end of this journey. I can promise that,” (via Yorkshire Live).

The Owls are currently six points from a top ten finish and eight points from qualifying for the play-offs (BBC Sport). It’s a tall order to ask other in-form teams to drop points, but all Wednesday can do is focus on their own upcoming games.

There has been a lot of divide this season over whether Monk is the right man for the job. However, following his recent comments, a lot of Wednesdayites are backing his corner. One fan has said ‘he has my backing’ whilst another thinks ‘he’s the right man’ moving forward.

Marvellous Monk. He has a vision and a promise of better times. It will take time, but he’s the right man, surely.
