Steve Bruce appears to have left it until the final day of the January transfer window to make additions to his Sheffield Wednesday squad.
According to Sky Sports, Newcastle United pair Achraf Lazaar and Rolando Aarons are expected to arrive on loan deals until the end of the season.
The pair have been out of favour at the Premier League outfit for some time under Rafa Benitez and could look to resurrect their careers in the Championship.
Aarons spent the first half of the campaign on loan with Slovan Liberec, however, things did not work out for him, whilst Lazaar spent the time in the Developmental squad at Newcastle.
The duo will likely become Bruce’s first additions at the club as he officially begins his tenure in charge of The Owls.
The Verdict:

The addition of Lazaar and Aarons could be extremely beneficially for everyone involved, including Sheffield Wednesday.
The pair will have the desire to make an impact as they look to get their careers back on track and The Owls could benefit from the potential performances the duo could bring with them.
With Sheffield Wednesday’s financial situation well documented, loan deals were always likely and these could be an excellent piece of business for the Hillsborough outfit.
